NY-1 Alera, recently rediscovered in Toronto, was a lost treasure until 2004 when she was purchased and shipped to Samples Shipyard in Boothbay, Maine.

She was the first completed yacht in the series of eighteen and left the roles of the NYYC in the early 1920's. Her history beyond that is still waiting to be uncovered. Her new owners plan a full restoration in time for her 100th Anniversary Season in 2005.
